The work Collective Consciousness explores the strategies of contemporary photography and image consumption. It is an attempt to find a way out of the visual maze of the almost infinite number of images stored in the web. In the three video loops, we see prominent tourist attractions emerging from the noise of global virtual space with a high visual representation on the Internet's image-sharing platforms.
Through an algorithmic image-creation process, these images are fused together and organized according to their precise geolocation. The viewer can approach these tourist destinations in the virtual image mass created by the videos, which often contain tens of thousands of source images per frame. For a moment, the many views converge and the background noise reveals the object of attention, creating an act of collective observation.
