The work Diorama deals with the phenomenon of time and observation. The work explores the forms of representation used in hunting, including the workings of game cameras, which are used to map the movements of game. The images they capture are often seen as visual evidence, but the quality and realism of the images is only a secondary expectation. In this series of images, this volatility is contrasted with the world of dioramas, which are more concerned with the accurate representation of individual species. They allow the viewer to examine the living world in a completely different quality and relationship. The absolutely timeless representation created in these dioramas is further enhanced by the museum context.
In the process, the wildlife cameras were placed in dioramas on display in the exhibition The Golden Age of Hunting in Hungary at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum and Library. In the resulting images, the timelessness of the taxidermied animals and the established environment are juxtaposed with the momentary nature of the images from the wildlife cameras.
The project was carried out in collaboration with the Hungarian Agricultural Museum and Library.
